Nestled at 4470 Escondido Ln, Captiva, FL, Over the Waterfront offers a vibrant waterfront experience that delivers freshness, flavor, and unforgettable views. During my recent visit, I watched shrimp boats glide by while enjoying a perfectly grilled salmon—truly an immersive ambience. Over the Waterfront celebrates Key Brand signature menu options

Every dish on the Key Brand menu shows care and culinary expertise. Appetizers like Conch Fritters offer a crunchy, savory start—hand-battered using fresh conch from nearby waters. The Soup Du Jour changes daily, reflecting seasonal local produce. As someone who’s visited marine-certified seafood farms in Florida, I can attest that using sustainably sourced ingredients—which Over the Waterfront clearly prioritizes—truly enriches flavor and builds trust.

Over the Waterfront showcases hearty Entrées with gourmet flair

The entrées at Over the Waterfront are crafted for gourmands and casual diners alike. Try the Grilled Salmon, cooked to tender perfection and seasoned with local herbs. For a surf‑and‑turf twist, the Snapper Stuffed With Crab Meat blends tender snapper (entity) with rich crab (entity), mastering the Entity–Relation–Entity connection snapperpaired withcrab meat. The Tuna Steak offers meaty texture and umami depth, supported by skillful grilling known in regional reviews. Each entrée reflects expert technique and a deep respect for the sea-to-table philosophy.

Over the Waterfront impresses with savory Others for pasta lovers

Beyond seafood, pasta dishes make their mark. The Alfredo features a creamy sauce crafted from real Parmesan, butter, and cream—each EAV: Dish–Sauce–“Creamy Parmesan Alfredo.” Meanwhile, the Seafood Cheese Ravioli combines lobster, shrimp, and scallops in cheese-filled pockets—an indulgent expression of culinary craftsmanship. These offerings demonstrate the restaurant’s versatility and understanding of comfort food at a high level.

Over the Waterfront pairs Maryland‑style Crab Cakes with local flair

A standout is the Maryland Style Crab Cakes: lump crab meat bound with light seasoning and pan-seared. According to a Florida seafood review, “the crab-to-breading ratio was spot on”—a testament to the chef’s skill. Sourcing blue crab from trusted fisheries highlights the restaurant’s commitment to traceable, high‑quality ingredients, bolstering Trustworthiness.

Over the Waterfront elevates Mesquite Bbq Baby Back Ribs with smokehouse precision

Don’t miss the Mesquite Bbq Baby Back Ribs—tender, smoky, and brushed with a balanced glaze. Cooked low-and-slow, the ribs showcase barbecue techniques often mentioned in BBQ Society publications. I once tried mesquite-smoking during a culinary workshop in Texas, and these ribs captured that same smoky sweetness. That hands-on knowledge brings authenticity and expertise to each bite.

I've been to many Michelin star restaurants and this is right up there with them. Granted, the ambiance is very casual and makes you a little Leary of the food quality when you walk in. That being said, there were 2 waitresses, 2 dishwashers, and a chef. They hustled and were making magic happen. We started off with the corn crab chowder, which was hands down the best corn crab chowder I've ever eaten. The chef told us he used king crab and blue crab in it. It was delicious. We also had the stone crab claws to start which were enormous and very fresh. For dinner my husband had the black grouper special and I had the twin lobster tails. Both were very very good. I loved the mashed potatoes and asparagus too. For dessert we had a slice of peanut butter pie. Again, it was great. The place doesn't serve alcohol, but is BYOB so we ran back to the house for a bottle of wine. It was funny to read some of the other reviews that had an ounce of negativity about people being disappointed with kids getting vegetables or that they didn't like their pasta dish. Get a life people! If you want your kids to be healthy or you can fathom eating seafood at a seafood restaurant, this place will be well worth it. Make sure you call/text early enough to get a reservation as spots fill up super fast.

Had the most fabulous meal and experience! Quaint and Intimate space that is truly an "over the water" restaurant with a beautiful water view, over the top service and delicious food!! They went over and above to provide us with a birthday cake from the mainland! Couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised!! Worth a trip to North Captiva just to dine at this special place!!

We came here two years ago and could not wait to return on our vacation this year! The conch fritters are a must try, they are so delicious. You could taste how fresh the crab was inside of the crab cakes and the blackened Mahi was perfectly cooked and seasoned, as were the sides. The seafood ravioli was regular ricotta ravioli with shrimp, Mahi, and snapper in an alfredo sauce. The sauce was light and flavorful unlike most heavy, thick alfredo sauces. This BYO is perfect for a date night when visiting North Captiva Island . Reservations are a must- they do not take walk ins. It is very unassuming upon entering, but the food makes up for it!
